Introduction
As healthcare providers strive to enhance operational efficiency and improve patient experience, the transition from paper to digital intake processes has become imperative. In this case study, we explore how Nalashaa addressed this pressing need for one healthcare provider, navigating the intricacies of e-signature integration with a keen focus on affordability and efficiency.
Client Requirement: Embracing E-Signatures for Streamlined Intake
Our client, like many in the healthcare industry, recognized the benefits of electronic signatures in expediting the patient intake process. Popular options like DocuSign, DigiSign, and PandaDoc offered a tempting solution, but their price tags proved a major hurdle, necessitating a pragmatic and cost-effective solution.
Nalashaa's Approach: Making the Most of Existing Resources
In response to the client's e-signature requirement, Nalashaa adopted a strategic approach that emphasized maximizing the utility of existing resources. By identifying Syncfusion, a pre-integrated third-party tool within the client's cloud EHR system, we harnessed its untapped potential to develop a robust and budget-friendly e-signature solution.
Simplified Signing: Catering to Patient Preferences
The implementation of the E-signature feature was designed to be versatile and user-friendly, catering to the diverse needs of patients interacting with the intake documents. Patients were provided with three distinct methods to input their signatures:
Draw
Patients could use a stylus or touchscreen device to draw their signature directly onto the document within the designated signature field. This method offered a natural and intuitive signing experience, akin to signing with pen and paper.
Type
Alternatively, patients had the option to type their signature using the keyboard. They could choose from a selection of fonts and text sizes to customize their signature's appearance, ensuring a personalized touch to their digital signature.
Upload
For added convenience, patients could upload a pre-existing image of their signature in any JPG or image format. This feature allowed patients to use scanned or digitally created signatures, preserving the authenticity of their handwritten signatures in a digital format.
Value Beyond Signatures: Why Our Solution Stands Out
By leveraging Syncfusion, the client incurred no additional costs for implementing the E-signature feature, aligning with their budgetary requirements:
Cost Efficiency
By leveraging Syncfusion, the client incurred no additional costs for implementing the E-signature feature, aligning with their budgetary requirements.
Enhanced Functionality
E-signatures on a single document, as well as on multiple pages, providing flexibility in document signing processes.
Scalability
The solution imposed no limit on the number of E-signatures that could be added to documents, accommodating varying document sizes and signing requirements.
Document Format Support
It supported various document formats, including Word, Excel, PPTX, PDF, and web images, ensuring compatibility with diverse document types commonly used in healthcare settings.
Utilization of Resources
By utilizing Syncfusion, an internally available third-party tool integrated with the cloud EHR system, the need for additional standalone E-signature tools was eliminated, simplifying the implementation process.
Innovation Meets Affordability
This case study demonstrates that innovation and budget-consciousness can coexist. Nalashaa's solution empowered the client to modernize their intake process and enhance patient experience without exceeding their financial constraints.
